Ex-UFC fighter reacts to Adin Ross' American Express ban allegedly being tied to Nick Fuentes controversy: "How they are able to control us"
A former UFC fighter has taken to X to share his thoughts on polarizing streamer Adin Ross' recent allegations regarding American Express. Popularly known as AMEX, American Express is a bank holding company known for producing some of the world's most well-known payment cards.
According to Ross, he was banned from American Express following a livestreamed conversation with controversial far-right political commentator, Nick Fuentes, who has propagated a wide range of antisemitic views and conspiracy theories, including Holocaust denial.
In response to Ross' claim, a former UFC welterweight and one-time title challenger has touched on the incident. To no one's surprise, it is none other than the controversial Jake Shields.
"This is how they are able to control us. At what point do we say enough is enough?"
Shields has traded the mixed martial arts life for a new career as a political provocateur, spreading a litany of antisemitic conspiracy theories online, among other inflammatory claims on social media. Meanwhile, Ross has come under increasing scrutiny due to associating with controversial public figures.
Besides Fuentes, the streamer has also been linked to controversial social media influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate. The 37-year-old is currently embroiled in a legal battle revolving around sexual assault, sex trafficking, and organized crime allegations, to name a few.
Ross' willingness to engage with anyone and everyone on his streams have led to a new wave of criticism sent his way. While he has never spoken to Shields himself, it wouldn't be beyond the realm of imagination for the two men to engage each other on social media.
Jake Shields isn't the only UFC fighter whose attention Adin Ross drew
While Jake Shields is the latest UFC fighter to interact with Adin Ross, even in a fairly distant capacity, he isn't the only one. Former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley had a friendly sparring session with the streamer, which went exactly as many expected it to.
Additionally, the pair had another interaction following O'Malley's Noche UFC 306 title loss to Merab Dvalishvili.

For now, however, Ross will be focused on restoring his American Express access before linking up with another fighter.
