Ex-UFC star Darren Till confirms rumors of boxing debut, promises "really big announcement" in the next few weeks

Darren Till, who was cut from the UFC roster earlier this year, has today released a video to update fans on his future in the boxing ring.

'The Gorilla' spent over a year away from the octagon following his loss to Derek Brunson in September 2021 to work on his wrestling and conditioning with numerous training partners – Khamzat Chimaev being the most notable. The fan-favorite returned at UFC 282 in December last year and, once again, struggled in the grappling department, ultimately losing to Dricus Du Plessis.

In a post on social media, Darren Till revealed some exciting news. Till stated that he will make a huge announcement "in the next few weeks" on who he will face in his boxing debut.

"I just wanted to do this video to confirm the rumors. Yes, they are true, I will be boxing. There's been a lot of rumors on who I'm gonna be boxing, that'll be announced in the next few weeks. I'll have a really big announcement on that... No fu**s given, I'm going into this boxing with the same mentality. I'll fight at any weight, [against] anyone, anywhere, it doesn't really matter... Striking is my bread and butter, so I'm supremely confident with whoever I'm gonna be fighting and that's all she wrote. In the next few weeks, I'll have a massive announcement."

Till built a career in MMA through his excellent striking. His movement on the feet and devastating power in his left hand made him a tricky opponent for most.

The Liverpudlian showed glimpses of brilliance during his dominant win over Donald Cerrone and his decision victory against Stephen Thompson. He even managed to drop Robert Whittaker with a perfectly timed shot despite eventually losing the bout.

Darren Till's next fight: Who is 'The Gorilla' rumored to be fighting in his boxing debut?

There have been a number of names mentioned alongside Darren Till since the middleweight decided to put his UFC career on pause.

While no definitive opponent has been named, global superstar Logan Paul was one of the few names constantly linked to a clash with the former UFC title challenger.

Luke Rockhold was a potential opponent before he signed with BKFC, and the controversial Dillon Danis was brought up in the conversation, though Till has dismissed interest in facing the Bellator grappler.
