Exclusive: Israel Adesanya fight at UFC 312 in Sydney a possibility? Anthony Hernandez comments on potential timeline and outcome
Anthony Hernandez recently shared his thoughts on a potential Israel Adesanya fight and whether a clash between them could go down at UFC 312 in Australia early next year. 'Fluffy' revealed that he was open to the matchup and saw himself picking up a solid result against the former UFC middleweight king.
Hernandez is coming off an impressive fifth-round knockout victory over Michel Pereira at UFC Vegas 99 last weekend. He's now a six-fight win streak and has an impressive 13-2-1 professional record. Meanwhile, Adesanya is coming off a fourth-round submission loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in August.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Hernandez weighed in on potentially fighting Adesanya next and outlined a possible timeline for the clash. He stated:
"That'd be awesome. Honestly, I think I'm ready for anyone. It would just be study, study, study, and then go send that sh*t... Izzy's done absolutely great things for the sport."
When asked about a possible fight at UFC 312 in Sydney in February 2025, 'Fluffy' stated:
"That would be tight. Australia is a f**king mission, but I guess I'd have to figure out how the taxes are out there. I'm not trying to get f**ked."
Hernandez also discussed his fight plan for Adesanya and iterated that he'd stick to his style, saying:
"Same sh*t I've been doing... Gas people out, and then I f**king finish them... He's obviously a very dangerous striker, so you'd want to close space... I think I got a good grasp on how to beat him."

Israel Adesanya predicts Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev fight at UFC 308
Israel Adesanya recently shared his thoughts on the Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev clash at UFC 308 this weekend. The former UFC middleweight king backed his ex-rival to emerge victorious and gave a definitive prediction for the fight.
In a YouTube video, 'The Last Stylebender' broke down the matchup and saw Whittaker getting the finish in the championship rounds. He said:
"I just think Rob is a guy not to be f**ked with. Look at his last fight; hopefully, people will remember who he is now. I think Rob will do it again, definitely not as early, I don’t think so. I just think he’ll catch him later on. But he has to weather the storm, he has to survive until he can’t... I’m gonna go Rob with this one with the late finish. Round 4... Late finish."
