"F**king brilliant" - Conor McGregor can't stop raving about Jon Jones' "incredible" performance at UFC 285

Conor McGregor was in attendance for Jon Jones' return to the octagon at UFC 285. Following a three-year hiatus from mixed martial arts, 'Bones' was able to pick up a dominant first-round submission victory over Ciryl Gane to become the heavyweight champion in his debut in the division.

'The Notorious' took to Twitter to congratulate Jones on becoming the eighth fighter in UFC history to win a title in two separate weight classes:

"That was incredible by Jon last night! Even better to see it live! The man should’ve had two belts presented to him. And both sparkling. He did it. F**king brilliant, @JonnyBones! Congrats!"

Jon Jones needed just over two minutes to defeat Ciryl Gane and become the 18th undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. Following the bout, 'Bones' labeled himself as the greatest of all time while calling out No.2-ranked heavyweight Stipe Miocic for his first title defense.

I can't stop watching this! Might be the funniest and low key most honest things Jon Jones has ever done in an interview! 🐐 #UFC285

Leading up to Jon Jones' return to the octagon, the longtime light heavyweight champion was asked about Conor McGregor's pending return. 'Bones' offered high praise for the former double champ, stating:

"There's only one Conor McGregor. I love Conor. I love what he represents. He's big. He has a gigantic brand. In some sense, it's just as big as our sport. It's going to be great when he comes back. He's going to bring a whole new energy, even more fans. It's great for all of us. It's great for the sponsors. It's great for the UFC. I wish Conor all the best."

While both fighters have had several high-profile feuds throughout their respective mixed martial arts careers, it is clear that they hold one another in high regard.

Leading up to UFC 285, McGregor made an appearance at the ceremonial weigh-ins, greeting Jones on stage. 'The Notorious' will look to pick up his first win since 2020 when he makes his return later this year.
