Fabricio Andrade eyes an "awesome performance" in Kwon Won Il redo at ONE 170: "The best version of me"

ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade doesn't just want to hop back into action and see how things unfold. He's hell-bent on leaving a lasting impression.

The Brazilian martial artist is aiming for another trademark display to add to his gallery of wins on the global stage when he defends his crown at ONE 170 inside Impact Arena on Jan. 24.

He runs it back with No. 3-ranked contender 'Pretty Boy' Kwon Won Il in Bangkok, Thailand.

Having spent months preparing himself for a return, 'Wonder Boy' says he is in tip-top shape heading into this tie. He told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:

"This is definitely the best version of me - my best yet. I'm looking to step back inside the circle to put on an awesome performance for the fans and to defend my belt."

The Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai superstar has been nothing short of amazing throughout his journey under the ONE spotlight.

Fabricio Andrade is yet to be defeated in the bantamweight MMA division, with five knockouts from six wins. His list of finishes came against Mark Abelardo, Li Kai Wen, Jeremy Pacatiw, Kwon Won Il, and John Lineker.

Fabricio Andrade hopes to have it in him to finish Kwon again

Despite 'Pretty Boy' being on a resurgence as of late, with three highlight-reel wins in succession, Fabricio Andrade already has the blueprint to beat the South Korean athlete — one that could come in handy at ONE 170.

Of course, Kwon does have the ability to catch Andrade when the two trade in the pocket, but 'Wonder Boy' never lets his feelings overpower his strategy.

The Brazilian athlete moves forward in a very calculative manner, and oftentimes, he explodes with big combinations before falling back to set up his next move.

On top of that, he has that one-hit power that can send opponents to sleep in a blink of an eye. So it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if he can repeat history and perhaps put Kwon away as easily as he did in 62 seconds back in June 2022.
