Fact Check: Is Muhammad Mokaev vs. Manel Kape canceled? UFC 304 card during live telecast sparks rumors
A moment during the UFC Vegas 94 live telecast has caused some confusion among fans regarding the UFC 304 event.
During the July 20 UFC event telecast, the UFC 304 main card was put on display. One fight missing from the line-up was a flyweight scrap between Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape.
This led to speculation among fans regarding whether the 125-pound matchup had been canceled.
To the MMA community's relief, the fight has not been scrapped but has been moved to the prelims of the event.
UFC 304 is all set to take place on July 27 at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England. The card will be headlined by a welterweight title clash between champion Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.
The two fighters first locked horns in March 2021. The bout ended in a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke by Edwards.
The co-main will feature another title fight as Tom Aspinall will defend his interim heavyweight belt against Curtis Blaydes. This contest is also a rematch as Blaydes won the first encounter due to Aspinall suffering a knee injury.
Always entertaining fighters Paddy Pimblett and Bobby Green will also square off in a lightweight thriller on the main card.
Furthermore, featherweight contenders Arnold Allen and Giga Chikadze will battle it out in a 145-pound clash.
The Mokaev (No.6) vs. Kape (No.8) matchup is another thrilling fight on the card. 'The Punisher' is currently undefeated with a 12-0-1 record. Kape, on the other hand, is riding a four-fight win streak in the UFC.
Kape recently uploaded a post on social media where he shared his prediction for the fight. 'Starboy' claimed that he would finish Mokaev in the opening round of the fight.
