"Wow some actual cringe for once" - Fans dig out pictures of Henry Cejudo representing Hispanic culture after 'Triple C' claims he is never seen with Mexican flag

Henry Cejudo might have given his 'King of Cringe' persona a new meaning with a speech he gave at Republican candidate Kari Lake's event.

Cejudo was invited as a guest speaker to an event called 'Friday Night Fight Night with Kari Lake' to show his support for the aspiring Arizona governor. In his speech, the former UFC champion claimed that he's "first and foremost American" and added that people will never see him carrying a Mexican flag.

"My message today, guys – as a Latino-American – because first and foremost I'm American... I was born in this country. I was raised in this country. You guys will me – as much as I love my culture – you guys will never see me with a Mexican flag."

However, a fan who goes by the Twitter handle @FullContactMTWF, pointed out that Cejudo flatout lied with his statements. The Twitter user posted a photo of 'Triple C' proudly carrying the Mexico banner.

MMA fans on Twitter are now bashing Cejudo for making such claims, even though they're blatantly false. On top of that, netizens are wondering why Cejudo needlessly resorted to downplaying his Mexican heritage to prove how proud he is of being American.

Henry Cejudo expresses support for Kari Lake

Henry Cejudo officially endorsed Republican candidate Kari Lake as his choice for Arizona's governor in the upcoming 2022 election.

Taking to Twitter, Lake thanked the former Olympic gold medalist for his support. In response, Cejudo wrote, "Let’s make a difference, Arizona!"

At the 'Friday Night Fight Night' event, the former UFC star also participated in an interview with Lake. During which, Cejudo asked the candidate what she considers the biggest fight of her career:

"It's the personal destruction... They try to tear you down. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of dirt. They didn't have a lot to tear me down with. They make a lot of stuff up, but I really would like to see us clean this political system up so that what our founding fathers envisioned, which is we the people, stepping forward and running for office."
