Farid Basharat tells his side of the story on hotel altercation with "coward" Michael 'Venom' Page after video leak
It recently came to light that Farid Basharat got into an altercation with Michael 'Venom' Page at the fighter hotel after the UFC 304 event in Manchester. While little is known about what sparked the scuffle, Basharat recently shed some light on the incident and told his version of the story.
In a recent YouTube video, Alexander Volkanovski mentioned that there was a brawl in the fighter hotel lobby after the event. While he refrained from naming the perpetrators, he outlined what went down between the two men. Soon after, footage of the incident emerged on social media, revealing Basharat and Page to be the two warring parties.
In a recent X post, the Afghan-born English fighter addressed the altercation and claimed that the former Bellator star threw the first punch. Reacting to footage of the incident, Basharat wrote:
"I’ve never been one to look for a fight but if somebody starts it I will never shy away. He swung first and then backed away. Coward and a fake nice guy. But it’s cool. I know how to deal with bullies. See you around."
Alexander Volaknovski opens up on the Farid Basharat vs. Michael 'Venom' Page hotel brawl
As mentioned, Alexander Volkanovski was briefly involved in the altercation between Farid Basharat and Michael 'Venom' Page. The two UFC stars clashed in the fighter hotel lobby after UFC 304 last weekend.
In a YouTube video, the Australian outlined what went down between the two and opened up about his efforts to stop the fight. Recapping the UFC 304 weekend, Volkanovski revealed that he tried to tackle Basharat and said:
"I won't say who it was but I'll tell you a little bit. So there was a bit that happened in a lobby between two guys, obviously a fighter [Page]. I don't know if the other guy was a fighter or I don't think it was a random. But stuff happened."
He continued:
"So the guy [Basharat] was stepping around all the security guards, I'm like, I might try and help - steps around me as well. I'm like, 'this guy's got some good movement.. So he's coming again, I try to grab him, we almost ran into the bottom of the stairs...This guy was slippery. I think he should play a bit of rugby league or something like that because he's one hard man to tackle."
