Fight Announcement: Adrian Lee Returns Against Nicholas Cornejo At ONE 168: Denver
Adrian Lee is officially scheduled to make a quick return to action at one of the biggest events of the year.
'The Phenom' will lock horns with undefeated Colorado brawler Nicholas Cornejo in a must-see lightweight MMA action at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 from the Ball Arena.
The 18-year-old rising star came from MMA royalty, as he is the younger brother to two-division ONE world champion Christian Lee, former atomweight MMA queen Angela Lee and the late Victoria Lee.
Ahead of his spectacular debut at ONE 167, Lee was riding the hype as an MMA wunderkind and aimed to smash his fellow debutant Antonio Mammarella.
And, it wasn't surprising that he lived up to that hype when he dismantled the Italian star via submission in the second round of their match.
Lee is now looking to continue his climb up the ranks when he takes on the hard-hitting local favorite.
Nicholas Cornejo will be a tough foe for young prodigy Adrian Lee
On the other corner, Colorado's Nicholas Cornejo looks to mark his debut with an upset over the 18-year-old rising star Adrian Lee.
'The Steel City Kid' carries with him a wrestling and grappling pedigree, but he also works best when throwing leather, as proven with back-to-back knockouts to kick off his professional career.
For the Pueblo native, a victory over Lee at ONE 168: Denver in U.S. primetime could set himself as the next big thing in the world's largest martial arts organization, while also opening more opportunities in the future.
At the same time, Lee is hoping to build from his monumental debut to gain more experience inside the Circle and take another step on his journey to the top of the MMA world.
Before facing Cornejo, 'The Phenom' arrived at the big stage with a spectacular feat to submit Antonio Mammarella at ONE 167.
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
