“First one in the gym, last one out” - Jonathan Haggerty says his hard work is second to none ahead of Superlek fight

Jonathan Haggerty isn't leaving the gym until he's happy with the work he's put in—even if that means being the first one to arrive and the last one to leave.

In a matter of days, the reigning two-sport king will return to the Circle set to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship for the second time in 2024. Following a successful defense against Felipe Lobo in February, Haggerty will face his toughest test yet when he meets reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world titleholder Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Their bout will headline ONE Championship's highly anticipated return to The Mile High City on Friday, September 6 for ONE 168: Denver.

In the months leading up to their clash, Haggerty has been documenting his camp on YouTube and recently revealed just how hard he's been training to ensure that when he steps into the Circle, he'll be prepared for anything 'The Kicking Machine' can throw at him.

"If I come out from a training session feeling like I've not done enough, I'll go back and make sure I've done enough," Haggerty said. "I'll be the first one in the gym, last one out."

Jonathan Haggerty could achieve No. 1 P4P status with a win over Superlek

Jonathan Haggerty goes into ONE 168: Denver sitting on a six-fight win streak, including three massive KOs in his last three outings. Dispatching former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama, reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world titleholder Fabricio Andrade, and the aforementioned Felipe Lobo inside the distance, Haggerty has quickly established himself as one of the best P4P fighters in the world.

With a win over Superlek, it would be hard to deny him the top spot.

Of course, getting a win over 'The Kicking Machine' will be much easier said than done. Thus far, nobody has been able to best Superlek in four-ounce gloves under the ONE banner. That includes 'The Iron Man' Rodtang, who just so happens to have two victories over Haggerty from their days as flyweight rivals.
