Former bantamweight MMA king John Lineker names fellow Brazilian knockout machine Fabricio Andrade as his best opponent
Former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker recently jumped on the r/MMA subreddit to answer some burning questions from the community ahead of his bantamweight Muay Thai debut against Asa Ten Pow at ONE 168: Denver on Friday, Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena.
Reddit user u/Iwillbeagoat asked 'Hands of Stone' who his best opponent was, and Lineker named now-reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade.
Check out their entire interaction below:
Lineker and 'Wonder Boy' first shared the circle in October 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 3, which would have been the former's first defense of the 145-pound MMA crown had he not been stripped of it due to missing weight.
Their bout ended in a no contest midway through the third round after Lineker received an accidental knee to his groin.
The hard-hitting Brazilians had their redo in February the following year, which ended with Andrade winning the ONE bantamweight MMA world championship via TKO ahead of the fifth round as Lineker's corner waved off the bout.
Lineker went on to win his next two fights over Kim Jae Woong and Stephen Loman to earn his fifth and sixth triumphs under the ONE banner.
John Lineker expects tough outing against Asa Ten Pow
John Lineker predicts that Asa Ten Pow will fully utilize his Muay Thai arsenal to attempt to earn the win at ONE 168: Denver.
Speaking with ONE Championship, the American Top Team star stated:
"Asa Ten Pow is a striking guy, a specialist in this area, and who is already used to fighting under the rules of Muay Thai."
