Former flyweight MMA king Adriano Moraes reflects on his storied career: “It’s been a pleasure for me”

Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked contender 'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes of Brazil has looked back on his extensive career in ONE Championship ahead of his impending return to the Circle next month.

Moraes has flourished as an athlete in the world's largest martial arts organization for the greater part of the last decade, and has faced the promotion's best flyweights.

Speaking to Party Starter Radio in an exclusive interview, Moraes shared his thoughts on what a career it has been for him.

The 36-yaer-old American Top Team / Constrictor Team product said:

"As a fighter, as an athlete, it’s been a pleasure for me to have this kind of talent from God to do what I love - to fight. Since I was a kid, I have been fighting. I’ve been fighting across Asia for 10 years."

Moraes joined ONE Championship in November of 2013, debuting at ONE: Warrior Spirit against Russia's Yusup Saadulaev. He has gone on to win the flyweight MMA gold on multiple occasions, and has notable wins over Geje Eustaquio, Danny Kingad, Yuya Wakamatsu, and Kairat Akhmetov.

His most significant win, however, came against American legend 'Mighty Mouse' Demetrious Johnson.

Moraes stopped Johnson with a knee to the face in their April 2021 showdown at ONE on TNT.
