Former MMA fighter sparks outrage after accusing the UFC of racism against Jon Jones and other 'black fighters’
Mixed martial artist-turned-boxer Anthony Taylor has alleged racism towards Jon Jones and other black fighters in the UFC. While the world's premier MMA promotion is plagued with several controversies to do with fighter treatment, racism is not often one of them.
Taylor took to Twitter to accuse the UFC of mistreating its fighters based on their race and skin color. He mentioned several fairer-skinned fighters like Khamzat Chimaev, Bo Nickal and Conor McGregor and compared them to Jones, Derek Brunson amongst other 'black fighters'.
"Why do all these other races get treated better than black fighters in the @ufc look how they treat BO, Khamzat, paddy, Colby, Conor, chandler and many more fighters, and now look how they treat Derek Brunson, Neil magny and Terrance McKinney and Jon Jones and etc etc. "
Taylor's comments drew the ire of UFC fans who flooded his replies in outrage. Fans argued about Jones' status in the promotion.
"In any other sport jon jones ain't playing anymore lmao. Dana has literally sold his soul to keep Jon happy lmao"
"What are you talking about, Jon jones is the highest paid fighter"
Fans also presented various other instances devoid of racist bias in the UFC.
"DC the most loved guy ur racist agenda don’t fit"
"They offered francis ngannou the second most ever and treat usman and edwards as the best stop looking for likes. "
"Literally almost everyone turned on paddy when they robbed Gordon bro."
Jon Jones responds to Francis Ngannou's snide congratulation tweet
The newest heavyweight champion Jon Jones was offered a snide congratulatory message from the former champion Francis Ngannou on Twitter following his UFC 285 win.
Ngannou took to Twitter after Jones' first-round submission win over No.1 contender Ciryl Gane but styled himself the heavyweight champion despite vacating the title and exiting the promotion earlier in the year.

'Bones' responded in his post-fight press conference and retorted at 'The Predator's' remarks. He excused himself as he alleged that Ngannou would not walk his talk.
"Francis is a big old p**sy... I love that quote, I love it. All that muscle with a big a** p**sy. Excuse me. I'm so sorry."
The two fighters are unlikely to face each other in the octagon despite being in the same weight class now as UFC president Dana White ruled out a return for Ngannou.
