Former NBA Rookie of the Year reacts after Tyson Fury claims he won the Oleksandr Usyk fight by "at least three rounds"

Tyson Fury could not avenge his career’s lone loss against Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday. Now, American former professional basketball player Michael Carter-Williams has reacted to Fury’s statements after losing the bout.

In the heavyweight championship rematch, the Ukrainian phenom emerged victorious over the British boxer via unanimous decision. All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in Usyk’s favor. In the first fight in May, 'The Cat' secured a win by split decision and became the first undisputed heavyweight king since Lennox Lewis in 2000.

'The Gypsy King' who seemed unhappy with the judge's decision this Saturday, said shortly after the fight:

'I swear to God, I thought I won it by at least three rounds."

ESPN Ringside on Instagram posted a picture of Fury with his recent remarks embedded in it. Carter-Williams, who is also a fight fan, commented on the post and disagreed with claims of winning. He wrote:

"Come on… Usyk landed the bigger shots, out landed him, had bigger moments, and after the 7th round Usyk pace picked up and Fury slowed down."

Tyson Fury refuses to accept defeat

Tyson Fury refused to accept defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, even after the judges scored the fight 116-122 in the favor of the Ukrainian. The three judges who scored in this contest were Patrick Morley, Panama's Ignacio Robles, and Puerto Rico's Gerardo Martinez.

'The Gypsy King', who thinks he had done enough and should have been declared the winner in this rematch, said at the post-fight press conference:

"Listen, it is what it is. I’m not going to cry over spilt milk, it’s happened now. I know boxing, I’ve been in it all my life — you can’t change no decisions. But I feel a little bit hard done by, actually a lot. There was a little bit of Christmas spirit in there. He got a little Christmas gift.”
