Former pro-boxer claims Francis Ngannou "will not survive" against any prominent boxer in the squared circle

Francis Ngannou was recently released by the UFC as per Dana White.

The UFC president stated that 'The Predator' felt there were better opportunities outside the promotion and was unwilling to sign a contract that would have made him the highest paid UFC heavyweight of all time.

Ngannou's frightening power has opened discussions that he may move across to professional boxing now that he is a free agent. However, Tony Bellew, the former WBC cruiserweight champion, believes that would be a grave mistake.

A poll released by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani posed a question about where Francis Ngannou will fight next, with boxing being an option. Bellew replied to Helwani's tweet and advised 'The Predator' against swapping the cage for the boxing ring:

"Terrible shame! He will not survive in a boxing ring against anyone of any note.. He’s the best MMA heavyweight in the world right now and he needs to stay within his discipline."

Francis Ngannou has previously expressed interest in a potential crossover superfight with Tyson Fury. Elite professional boxers generally earn distinctly more than elite MMA fighters. 'The Predator' appears eager to explore the best financial avenues, and a boxing match against heavyweight king Fury may be his Mayweather vs. McGregor moment to earn generational wealth.

Sean Strickland reflects on the UFC releasing Francis Ngannou, eager to see Fury vs. Ngannou

Sean Strickland competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night 217 this weekend and was awarded a unanimous decision victory over Nassourdine Imavov.

During his post-fight press conference, Strickland was informed about the UFC's decision to release Francis Ngannou from his contract. 'Tarzan' was disappointed to hear that 'The Predator' would be leaving the promotion, and called for a superfight between Ngannou and Tyson Fury to take place:

"It's a shame to see Francis go, he's iconic in the UFC. Probably one of the greatest heavyweights we've ever had. Sucks he parted ways [with the UFC] but I hope that him and Tyson Fury fight for a lot of f***ing money... I'd love to see him fight in the UFC but if Tyson Fury sacks up and takes that fight against Francis, that's go f**k yourself money."
