Former rival responds after Conor McGregor announces he is "going to slice through someone on return"

Conor McGregor recently went on a tweeting spree and fired a warning to his potential future opponents. 'The Notorious' posted a few tweets addressing his highly anticipated return to action and it seems Rafael dos Anjos is eager to welcome the Irishman back to the UFC octagon.

McGregor has been on the sidelines for over a year after suffering a nasty leg fracture against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in their trilogy fight. The Irishman underwent extensive recovery and rehabilitation over the period of his absence.

In a tweet, the biggest superstar in MMA brashly declared his ability to make easy work of any opponent put before him, writing:

"I’m going to slice through someone on return. Trust that. And I don’t care who. Line up."

Reacting to this ominous warning from Conor McGregor, the Irishman's former rival tweeted his anticipation in a single-word response in the comment section. Rafael dos Anjos tweeted:

"Bombado."

The Portuguese word roughly translates to "pumped up" and it's not surprising that the former lightweight champion wants to see McGregor return to the UFC. The two former rivals were meant to face each other at UFC 196 in 2016 but the bout failed to materialize after Dos Anjos suffered a foot injury.

It remains to be seen if the Rafael dos Anjos vs. Conor McGregor matchup will happen in the future.

Conor McGregor berates Jake Paul for his deal with the PFL

Conor McGregor recently sounded off on Jake Paul for the 25-year-old's multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). 'The Notorious' criticized Paul for offering 50% revenue share to fighters in the promotion's new pay-per-view series, where 'The Problem Child' will be competing in the super fight division.

McGregor posted a tweet that has since been deleted where he referred to Paul as "Numbnuts" for his apparent financial generosity towards other fighters and questioned the younger Paul sibling's equity ownership in the organization.

The Irishman wrote:

"Numbnuts gave away 50% of a future purse if he does an MMA bout? Wow. What an idiot. Joint partnership what? For what you Wally. Wally."

This is not the first time that Conor McGregor has taken shots at the younger Paul sibling and the two have traded harsh words on social media. The YouTuber-turned-boxer recently called out McGregor for a boxing match while claiming he could beat McGregor with one hand tied behind his back.
