Former UFC bantamweight discusses how Fight Pass can be used as path back to the promotion

Fight Pass is a prime outlet where regional MMA promotions can expand their coverage. Former UFC bantamweight Johnny Munoz hopes to use Fight Pass to get back into the Octagon after going 2-4 in the UFC before the promotion fired him.

During his appearance on The Game Plan, the former KOTC bantamweight champion said he chose UWC for his most recent bout because their events air on Fight Pass. Munoz mentioned the platform caters to UFC fans, allowing him to get back on the promotion's radar much quicker. He said:

"It's always good to fight on those promotions that are on...Fight Pass. It's a good platform, right? Because you got MMA fans from all over the world that are subscribed...they're just MMA fans that are trying to look at all these other shows, and so UWC is on...[UWC has] good production and everything, so it's a cool show. And a lot of fighters from that show have been to the UFC." [1:38 - 2:17]

Former UFC bantamweight Johnny Munoz details how his UWC bout materialized

In addition to disclosing where he'd like to compete following his UFC departure, Johnny Munoz detailed how his UWC fight materialized.

'Kid Kvenbo' fought Juan Pablo Mendoza at UWC Mexico 54 last month, where he earned a unanimous decision win. In the interview above, Munhoz said the matchup materialized on short notice but that he is used to competing under those circumstances. He said:

"This opponent [at UWC Mexico 54] came about like, I think two weeks before the fight, and so that's how that one came about and honestly, I'm used to that stuff. Before when I was fighting in King of the Cage, all my fights were last minute. I think I probably had one or two [KOTC] fights that I knew, 'I was gonna fight this guy', for a couple months."
