Former UFC bantamweight shares prediction for Sean O'Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili: "It's gonna be an interesting fight"

A former UFC bantamweight recently shared his prediction for the highly anticipated bantamweight title fight between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili. The bout is scheduled to headline Noche UFC, which will take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Sep.14.

'Suga' vs. 'The Machine' is an intriguing clash of styles as the champion is known for his knockout power and striking. Meanwhile, the challenger has showcased his exceptional grappling and wrestling against former champions like Jose Aldo, Petr Yan and most recently Henry Cejudo.

While speaking to The Game Plan, former UFC bantamweight Johnny Munoz weighed in on the upcoming bantamweight title fight and shared his thoughts on how both fighters match up with each other. Munoz mentioned that he is giving Dvalishvili the slight edge over O'Malley and believes he has the skillset to dethrone the champion. He said:

"I'm leaning towards Merab [Dvalishvili] but I'm not counting O'Malley out. I mean, [O'Malley] does pack a punch, seems to be good with distance, the range counter. [He] says Merab is gonna walk into something...even though Merab got all the grappling. But sometimes it could be hard to take down a taller guy if he's defending well...There's a lot of factors [that] are gonna play into this, so it's gonna be an interesting fight."

Former UFC bantamweight Johnny Munoz discloses why fighters compete

In addition to sharing his prediction for Sean O'Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili, former UFC bantamweight Johnny Munoz disclosed why fighters compete.

During the aforementioned appearance, Munoz mentioned that fighters are showmen that thrive off the attention they receive from the crowd. He said:

"[Fighters] fight for attention. I'm a victim of it. Everybody, I don't give a fu** who it is...Sean O'Malley...he's a showman. You think he's gonna fight Merab [Dvalishvili] in front of one guy or just fight Merab in front of me and you? I don't think so...It's different when you're out there in front of a crowd."
