Former UFC fighter has hilarious special referee suggestion for potential 'Blonde' Dan Hooker vs. 'Blonde' Charles Oliveira fight
It seems blonde Dan Hooker is owning the MMA social media realm these days. After his crazy split decision win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305 last weekend, 'The Hangman' rose to extreme relevancy due to the wild nature of the fight and his rather fresh new look.
The Kiwi fighter showed off new tattoos, covering most of his arms and chest area, and his lush blonde-colored hair. People are now attributing this 'blonde' persona to his recent success, as other fighters have done the same.
One fighter, UFC bantamweight star Marlon 'Chito' Vera, who also once sported blonde hair, suggested Dan Hooker face another lightweight with the same chops: Charles Oliveira.
ESPN MMA posted Vera's tweet on Instagram, where the UFC bantamweight said:
"Hear Me out blonde hooker vs blonder Oliveira ???? @ufc"
While the name 'Blonde Hooker' might not sit well with some, this match-up seems interesting regardless of hair color. Another UFC fighter, former heavyweight Chase Sherman, suggested a special guest referee to go with the blonde hair theme:
"Blonde Brunson ref"
Blonde Dan Hooker put on a show against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305
At UFC 305 last weekend, 'The Hangman' tore the roof off as he went on an absolute war against Polish grappler Mateusz Gamrot. The bout earned Fight of the Night honors due to its high-octane action from start to finish.
Hooker came out of the gates hot, dazzling the crowd by going after Gamrot like a bat out of hell. Gamrot managed to halt the violence momentarily by bringing the fight to the mat but the Kiwi striker managed to get up. Near the end of the first frame, Hooker landed a strong punch that wobbled Gamrot for a possible 10-8.
In the second round, Gamrot wanted nothing to do with Hooker's striking and immediately went on a wrestling barrage. Still, 'The Hangman' managed to get a few good licks in. In-between rounds two and three, Hooker was seen smiling at his coaches and then shouting the words, "I love this sh*t!!!".
Hooker then closed the show by keeping the pressure on Gamrot while the latter never held back on his grappling. In the end, two of the three judges gave the fight to Hooker, making it three wins in a row for the Kiwi.
