Former UFC star believes "full of p**s and vinegar" Conor McGregor will fight again, predicts outcome of potential Michael Chandler fight

Conor McGregor has not returned to the octagon since breaking his leg when he faced Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 more than three years ago. While he appeared set to make his highly-anticipated comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, 'The Notorious' was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a pinky toe injury.

Despite his claims that the bout will be moved to a later date, there has been speculation that the former double champ may never fight again. Urijah Faber recently revealed that he believes McGregor will return and beat 'Iron'. Speaking to Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, the UFC Hall of Famer stated:

"For being a friend but a distant friend, someone that I feel like I’ve spent enough time on with to kind of understand, the guy wants to fight. He has money, he has fame, he could easily go and just do the movie career or be a businessman or whatever, but I feel like in his heart, his identity, his passions are still to fight. I think he will fight. He’s in no rush, he’s going to do it on his terms, which is a great place to be."

Faber continued:

"Not many people in this world, in our world, mixed martial arts, get to be in the place he’s in, where he wears the pants, but I think he will fight because he loves to fight. I mean, that’s who he is in his heart, that’s what’s given him these opportunities. He’s still young and full of p**s and vinegar, so I hope to see him fight. The MMA space always benefits when a superstar comes out and puts their neck out."

Faber added that he believes if McGregor trains correctly, he will beat Chandler. He revealed that he sent 'The Notorious' a Rollbot - a robot training partner from the UFC Hall of Famer's company - and was impressed with his ground work in the footage.

Daniel Cormier doesn't believe Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will end their feud

While it has been nearly six years since Conor McGregor suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, the feud between the two remains strong. Daniel Cormier, who trains with the latter at American Kickboxing Academy, does not see the rivals settling their differences anytime soon.

After 'The Notorious' once again targeted 'The Eagle', the UFC Hall of Famer discussed the possibility with Ben Askren on the latest episode of Funky & The Champ, stating:

"He just hates Khabib. He hates him... They are not letting it go. It's deep-rooted, but it's deep-rooted on both sides, honestly... [Khabib] doesn't like this guy, bro. They don't like each other. This is crazy. It really is. It's deep. It's very deep, but I think the closest thing you would get to a resolution in that is, again, Conor beating [Michael Chandler] and then earning a championship fight against Islam Makhachev, right?"

Cormier added that a potential clash between McGregor and Islam Makhachev would give the former the opportuntiy for redemption. He noted, however, that he is unsure of the likelihood of it happening as Michael Chandler is unable to get a date to face the former double champ.
