Francis Ngannou blows away Jake Paul while describing his arduous 6-mile journey to school
Francis Ngannou's rough upbringing is a well-known tale in the MMA community, but it still shook up Jake Paul when hearing it for the first time. As the two conversed on the latest edition of the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, the heavyweight's moving story drew out the emotions of the hosts.
'The Predator' retold his life story on the show to Paul and co-hosts Brandon Amato and Demaurae 'Kill Jasper' Nichols. Ngannou shocked the crew by revealing that he had to walk six miles to school every morning as a child.
Ngannou said:
"My school was like six miles away, so that was quite a walk. It took me almost two hours to come back from school to home... Some lucky times I would go into the truck from the sand quarry... I could get there by 20 or 25-minute truck ride if I could find the truck, or I had to basically walk for almost two hours."

As he typically does when recalling his unheralded story, Ngannou moved on to re-tell Paul his improbable story of leaving Cameroon to pursue a life in France. The two PFL-branded athletes then advanced to discussing the 38-year-old's unceremonious departure from the UFC and both of their upcoming fights.
Francis Ngannou's upcoming fight with Renan Ferreira
While Jake Paul prepares for a potentially record-breaking boxing bout with Mike Tyson in November, Francis Ngannou will end a nearly three-year-long layoff from MMA in October. In his first with the PFL, 'The Predator' will return to face the promotion's 2023 heavyweight tournament champion Renan Ferreira.
Ngannou and Ferreira will headline a pay-per-view fight card on Oct. 19 for the PFL Super Fights heavyweight championship.
Ferreira "won" the fight in February with a 21-second knockout of Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in the main event of PFL vs. Bellator: Champs. The winner of the fight was announced to be Ngannou's initial opponent in the smart cage beforehand.
