Francis Ngannou reveals what sport he will probably return to and provides a timeline

Francis Ngannou is officially a free agent after running down his UFC contract and disagreeing on an extension with the company. Still, it seems he's taking no time in deciding what's next, as the powerhouse has provided a timeline for his return.

'The Predator' was the UFC heavyweight champion prior to his release and remains one of the most terrifying men on the planet, which bodes well for whatever he plans to do next.

Originally, the Cameroonian was rumored to be welcoming Jon Jones back into the octagon, but as the saying goes - "Man poses God disposes."

While discussing his future with Ariel Helwani, Francis Ngannou gave an estimated timeline for his return to combat sports while admitting that his next venture will likely be inside the boxing ring:

"The latest will be July, I will say so, hopefully. [I] at least [want to fight] twice a year, twice this year... My gut, I will say [when I return, it will be in] boxing. Yeah, pro-boxing... Not yet [I don't know where], but I'm gonna find out. I'm working on it, I'm on it right now."

Although Ngannou's time in MMA will likely continue in the distant future, fans of the freak of nature will be able to follow his journey into a new sport as he dares to be great.

Reports are suggesting that the 36-year-old hasn't burned any bridges with the UFC and could one day return to the octagon. For now, he has his sights firmly set on creating a legacy that he can be proud of.
