FREE FULL FIGHT: BJJ phenom Kade Ruotolo dominates Blake Cooper in stellar MMA debut at ONE 167
Combat sports fans all over the world enjoyed a great night of fights at ONE 167 last June 7 which featured high-octane action throughout plus the long-awaited MMA debut of Kade Ruotolo.
The ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion shared the Circle with highly accomplished amateur wrestler Blake Cooper.
Known best by the fans for his electric finishes and dynamic grappling, Ruotolo gave them a taste of his stand-up game as he willingly went toe-to-toe with the Lion of Judah product and even threw a couple of high kicks.
While he was relatively successful with his striking, Ruotolo inevitably brought the fight to his realm of expertise and worked through Cooper's grappling defense to cinch in a deep rear-naked choke with under two minutes in round one.
ONE Championship posted the full fight on YouTube and it can be watched below.
The victory gave Ruotolo his seventh victory under the world's largest martial arts promotion and his third submission finish to date.
Kade Ruotolo holds ONE 168 opponent in high regard
Fans need not wait long to see Ruotolo back inside the Circle as he will put his ONE lightweight submission grappling world title on the line against ONE flyweight submission grappling world champ Mikey Musumeci at ONE 168 on September 6 inside the Ball Arena in Denver.
In an interview with ONE flyweight MMA world titlist Demetrious Johnson, Kade Ruotolo declared his undying respect for Musumeci:
"Again, it's just another one to put on the record. Mikey, a lot of people consider him pound-for-pound one of the greatest. He's had a lot of amazing wins over a lot of amazing people."
