FREE FULL FIGHT: ‘Reug Reug’ showcases his stifling Senegalese wrestling style against Jasur Mirzamukhamedov
Senegalese heavyweight MMA fighter Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane has been practically unstoppable in ONE Championship since making his promotional debut in January 2021. Banking on his diverse skills, including a suffocating wrestling game, he has won six of seven matches to date.
Among his impressive victories was one over Uzbekistani fighter Jasur Mirzamukhamedov in December 2022 in Manila, where he won by unanimous decision. ONE uploaded the full fight between the two big warriors on Nov. 2 ahead of the scheduled title bid of 'Reug Reug' this week at ONE 169 against reigning heavyweight MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin of Russia.
Check out the video below:
Against Mirzamukhamedov, 'Reug Reug' displayed his crack wrestling skills, which continuously frustrated his opponent throughout their scheduled three-rounder. 'White Tiger' tried hard to make it a stand-up match to suit him better but had little success as the Dakar native always found a way to bring the contest to the ground on his way to the convincing victory by decision.
'Reug Reug' up for his biggest fight at ONE 169
While Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane has been dominant so far in his ONE Championship journey, he is up for arguably his biggest match on Nov. 8 in Thailand as he challenges Russian heavyweight MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin.
The Malykhin-Reug Reug title match will be the headlining contest of the stacked event, which will take place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and air live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subcription.
The Senegalese challenger comes to the title showdown winning his last four matches, the most recent back in July, where he knocked out compatriot Boucher Ketchup in the opening round of their heavyweight kickboxing clash.
He is now hoping that his return to MMA will be an eventful one, with the heavyweight strap on his waist.
Looking to frustrate him at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug is 'Sladkiy,' who is making his first title defense of the heavyweight belt after unifying the division's belts in June last year with a TKO win over erstwhile world champion Arjan Bhullar.
Apart from the heavyweight world title, Malykhin also holds the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world championship belts.
