FREE FULL FIGHT: Superbon shows off his genius in calculated beatdown of Marat Grigorian in Singapore
When Superbon became the undisputed king of the ONE featherweight kickboxing division, his first championship defense was against a familiar foe in Marat Grigorian, whom he faced in March 2022 at ONE: X, which went down inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The exciting striking showdown between the two maestros was recently reposted by ONE Championship on their YouTube channel, and they wrote the full fight's description:
"Before ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon takes on fellow Thai superstar "Smokin" Jo Nattawut in a Muay Thai banger at ONE Friday Fights 81 on September 27, relive his defense of the undisputed kickboxing crown against old foe Marat Grigorian at ONE X in 2022!"
Since the beginning of the match, the difference in approach between Superbon and Grigorian has been apparent: the former is the counter-striker, while the latter is the aggressor.
The Armenian challenger repeatedly tried to attempt his powerful signature right-hand punch against the defending world champion, while the Thai superstar avoided them during the fight.
Furthermore, Superbon has utilized several body kicks and step-through knees to inflict damage and score points on the judges' scorecards. This approach was enough for the 34-year-old to bag the dominant unanimous decision victory and retain his 26-pound golden belt.
Superbon to face Jo Nattawut in an all-important featherweight Muay Thai scrap at ONE Friday Fights 81
Superbon is coming off his ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world title triumph against Grigorian in their second ONE Championship meeting in April 2024 at ONE Friday Fights 58 with another unanimous decision nod from the judges.
He is preparing to face fellow Thai superstar Jo Nattawut in a featherweight Muay Thai match on September 27. They will headline the ONE Friday Fights 81 card inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
A victory for Superbon could punch him a ticket for another world title shot against reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
