FREE FULL FIGHT: Thai superstar Superlek shows off his pedigree in stunning knockout finish of Tagir Khalilov
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 showcased the full extent of his striking abilities in his catchweight (135.25 pounds) Muay Thai showdown with Tagir Khalilov in July 2023. Though 'Samingpri' withstood the bulk of Superlek's barrage, referee Olivier Coste eventually called a stop to their action-packed encounter midway through the second round due to Khalilov's inability to properly defend against the Thai star's rampage.
Watch Superlek's devastating TKO of Khalilov in its entirety below, which ONE shared on YouTube:
Two months later, Superlek fought reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a non-title Muay Thai superfight, which the Kiatmoo9 Gym star won by unanimous decision.
Superlek then went on to secure marquee victories over Japanese megastar Takeru Segawa and Kongthoranee Sor Sommai to extend his winning streak to 10 fights.
He will be gunning for his 11th straight win by taking the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship from Jonathan Haggerty, who also holds the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship, in the main event of ONE 168: Denver on Friday, Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena.
Superlek expects high-level chess match against Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168
Superlek believes that fighting acumen will play a crucial role when he steps inside the circle with Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver.
Speaking with the South China Morning Post, Superlek said:
"I mean as a technical fighter, of course, at a certain level [I can adjust]. I'm good at changing the game plan and improvising the game plans. And I'm expecting Haggerty to come and also just try to fix [and adjust] his game plan when he faces me as well."
