FREE FULL FIGHT: Witness Rodtang's emotional world title win in rematch against Jonathan Haggerty in pure, no commentary form
ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon's defense of the 135-pound Muay Thai crown against Jonathan Haggerty in January 2020 remains one of his best outings under the ONE Championship banner.
Still fresh of losing the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship to Rodtang in August 2019, 'The General' feverishly tried to pressure Rodtang into making mistakes in the rematch.
However, Rodtang's early knockdown proved to be a sign of things to come as the Thai hero eventually finished him off via TKO in the third round.
Relive all the action from the rematch with no commentary, which ONE shared on YouTube:
Rodtang currently has five successful defenses of the 135-pound Muay Thai crown. That run includes masterful performances against Walter Goncalves, Petchdam Petchyindee, Joseph Lasiri and Edgar Tabares.
The Tabares win in May 2023 was significant for the Jitmuangnon Gym star as it was his first finish under the ONE banner since the Haggerty rematch.
Rodtang will look to remain the king of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai division when he defends the throne against Jacob Smith at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Jacob Smith expects Rodtang to have better performance at ONE 169
Jacob Smith hopes Rodtang will be on his A-game when he challenges him for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 169.
In a recent interview with Cageside Press, the third-ranked ONE flyweight Muay Thai competitor said:
"I thought he was poor, to be honest. I thought Rodtang was poor in that fight [with Denis Puric]. I thought Denis was also poor in that fight. But I'm not expecting that Rodtang to turn up [at ONE 169]."
ONE 169 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
