FREE FULL FIGHT: Zhang Peimian chalks up debut to remember in stunning knockout finish of Josh Tonna in Singapore
Zhang Peimian had a dream debut in ONE Championship after he scored a second-round TKO win against former ISKA K-1 world champion Josh Tonna in their strawweight kickboxing match at ONE: Lights Out in March 2022.
Zhang's masterful performance against Tonna was reposted by the promotion on their YouTube channel, and the video's description read:
"Chinese warrior Zhang Peimian delivered a debut to remember against Australian slugger Josh Tonna in their kickboxing showdown at ONE: LIGHTS OUT!"
The 'Fighting Rooster' started the match by controlling the center of the circle and fired several combinations that stunned 'Timebomb' several times in the early stages of the match.
Zhang particularly attacked the Aussie's lead leg with thunderous kicks and his head with left hooks that went through his guard.
The Chinese striking sensation's momentum was momentarily halted with an accidental low blow with under a minute left in the opening round.
That low blow seemed not to affect Zhang's power because he was able to sneak in a beautiful left-hand punch down on Tonna's liver to sit him down on the canvas in the dying seconds of the round.
With momentum on his side, Zhang doubled down on attacking Tonna's body until he couldn't take the punishment anymore. He was knocked down three times in the second frame, awarding the TKO triumph for the Chinese star.

After that successful debut, Zhang Peimian won three more of his fights to put his tally at four wins in the promotion. He also had his opportunity for gold at ONE 162 when he fought Jonathan Di Bella for the then-vacant ONE strawweight kickboxing world title.
The Shengli Fight Club representative is preparing for his strawweight kickboxing clash with former multiple-time world champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao on Nov. 8 at ONE 169, which will take place inside the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
