"Future GOAT" - Fans bow to the power of Smilla Sundell unfurled against fellow world champ Alycia Hellen Rodrigues
Fight fans are in awe of Smilla Sundell's ferocious power after knocking out fellow world champion Alycia Hellen Rodrigues in her last world title defense.
Sundell is an incredibly difficult opponent to deal with in the 125-pound division, and she made that perfectly clear last September at ONE Fight Night 14 in Singapore.
The 19-year-old sensation wasn't labeled as the "future GOAT" before she confronted undefeated ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
It was very obvious from the start that she had talent, but she has grown to become an extremely aggressive Muay Thai fighter that borderlines the masterful.
This week, as Smilla Sundell prepares to meet another undefeated competitor in surging Russian superstar Natalia Diachkova at ONE Fight Night 22, which airs live on Friday, May 3 in Bangkok, check out the power Sundell unleased against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues that caused instant praise from her Muay Thai fans:
"Why not?" Smilla Sundell open to fighting anyone in a special rules fight
After showcasing her mettle against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, teenage phenom Smilla Sundell said she's open to fighting anyone in a special rules fight.
The dominant champion has carried out multiple contracts under ONE Championship with great success since joining the ranks in 2022. And since then, has been eagerly awaiting for challengers to sign on the dotted line to face her.
Thus far, she has crossed off multiple world-class competitors on her list, including American standout Jackie Buntan and Australian slugger Diandra Martin, to start thinking about broadening her horizons in a different sport altogether or in a crowd-pleasing superfight.
Speaking to ONE Championship, she said:
"I would love to fight special rules like Xiong Jing Nan and Wondergirl did. It looked fun. Yeah, why not? I'll fight anyone in any sport. Maybe not MMA just yet, but kickboxing is also on my mind."
