"Giving him the 'Silk Road' treatment" - Tristan Tate weighs-in on Telegram CEO Pavel Durov's shocking arrest at French airport
Tristan Tate has come to the defense of the recently-arrested CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov. He has been accused of not abiding by the standard of moderations that were allegedly required by authorities in order to deter and diminish the amount of criminal activity occurring on Telegram.
Charges are related to drug trafficking, child sexual content and fraud, and Durov is currently in police custody after being arrested in France when his private jet touched down at Le Bourget Airport, as per French media.
Tate believes that the Telegram CEO is being given similar treatment to Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road - a website that facilitated black market transactions of all kinds.
Ulbricht was handed a life-sentence, without the possibility of parole, in 2015.
Owner of social media app X, Elon Musk, recently posted a video of Durov's interview with Tucker Carlson. Durov claimed that the FBI among, other U.S. agencies, attempted to hire one of his Telegram engineers to try and create "backdoors" to help spy on Telegram users.
Tristan came upon the video online, and shared the following message:
"I've met Pavel, personally, he's a good man. I'm happy he did the Tucker interview as it makes the reasons for his arrest clear. They're trying to give him the "Silk Road" treatment which means "everything that anybody has done on your platform is your fault". What about P*rnhub? This is a matrix attack."

Tristan Tate shares beer-drinking photo while police raid his house for "stolen money"
Tristan Tate and his brother, Andrew, are still battling with Romainian authorities, more specifically the Directorate of Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), who recently raided their house under suspicion of human trafficking.
Having spent time in a Romainan jail in 2022 for alleged sexual assault crimes, the pair were thought to be cleared of any wrongdoings. But alleged new information brought to light by DIICOT has led to another raid.
According to Tristan, the authorities stole money from them during their recent raid. He took to X and wrote this:
"DIICOT raiding my house, they’re in the process of counting all the money they stole and I’m sure I won’t see my friends/family for 6 months. @RorSyns - “One for the road? Me- You haven’t arrested me yet and this is my bloody house. I’ll drink whatever I like thanks very much."
