Glover Teixeira reveals "path to victory" in upcoming title clash against Jamahal Hill at UFC 283

Glover Teixeira is dialed in and ready for his massive opportunity as he fights Jamahal Hill for the vacant light heavyweight championship tomorrow night at UFC 283.

Teixeira appeared on Michael Bisping's Believe You Me podcast on the UFC Hall of Famer's YouTube channel, where he spoke about his preparations for his upcoming title fight. He mentioned that his path to victory is to push the pace and make it a gritty fight for Hill.

He said:

"My path to victory is to the grind, man. Is to get in his face, feint-feint, go for punches, go for takedowns. The way I always fight. I don't have too much, like, 'Ohh, this guy...' But for sure, I'm always like, the key to victory is to take a guy down and ground-and-pound." {5:18 - 5:39}

The former UFC light heavyweight champion also spoke about his intense face-off with 'Sweet Dreams' from the media day event. When asked if there is any animosity, he mentioned that he has a lot of respect for his opponent and is happy that he accepted the short notice title fight, saying:

"I have no bad blood with no one, Bisping, you know. I'm cool with everybody and I respect him a lot, and I'm glad that he's here. Glad that he take the fight - of course, you would, you know a title fight - but just happy, man." {5:56 - 6:16}

Teixeira will have an opportunity to become a two-time light heavyweight champion at 43-years-old, which is remarkable in this modern era of the UFC.

Glover Teixeira opened up about his future in the UFC and revealed that he doesn't have a timeline for when he thinks he will retire from MMA.

During his appearance on Michael Bisping's Believe You Me podcast, the former UFC light heavyweight champion mentioned that he feels fortunate that he's able to compete at a high level without having any major injuries.

He said:

"Right now I'm just having fun, man. Like, I even joke yesterday saying, 'I'm in my prime, man.' Because I feel like at older age, I've been fighting better because I've become myself better. My defense, roll with the punches, and I find the way to work on my style the best for me and the way I of course, I figured how to train better." {7:20 - 7:48}

Teixeira also added that if he defeats Jamahal Hill to win the vacant light heavyweight championship at UFC 283, he intends to continue fighting because he wants to avenge his loss to Jiri Prochazka.
