Glover Teixeira reveals recipe for his own secret juice to remain young and fight for the title at 43

Glover Teixeira is set to headline the UFC's first pay-per-view of the year against Jamahal Hill for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship. The UFC 283 main event will be the 43-year-old's first fight since he lost the belt to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275 last year.

At his age, Teixeira continues to impress physically and does not back down from taking on significantly younger opponents. Apparently, the secret behind it is a special homemade concoction, akin to Paulo Costa's famous 'secret juice'. ESPN MMA's broadcast crew was let in on the secret by the Brazilian light heavyweight on a visit to his home.

Brett Okamoto spoke about it on the network just before the panel wrapped up their show, saying:

"Alright, well before we go, our ESPN MMA crew recently hung out with Glover at his home here in Connecticut and we believe he shared with us his fountain of youth, he calls them dragon shots and he takes them every day. Turmeric, Himalayan salt, apple cider vinegar, do you know what that is Michael Chiesa? Spirulina and cayenne pepper. It obviously works for him. This is Glover's secret juice."

The panel, which included UFC fighter Michael Chiesa, then tried Glover Teixeira's 'dragon shots' themselves. They had mixed responses to it with reactions from both ends of the spectrum. One panelist declared it terrible while another exclaimed that it was fantastic.

Glover Teixeira reveals how long he intends to continue fighting

Glover Teixeira has no intention of slowing down despite being older than the rest of his division. The Brazilian spoke to Michael Bisping in an interview on the Believe You Me podcast and addressed his longevity and future.

The former champion explained that he has no specific plans but does not believe he could carry on for another ten years. He also stated that injury would play the biggest part in a decision like this and he would hope to avoid one:

"I don't know man! I like to say ten more, but I don’t think so, man. You know, Bisping I leave it like uh, when it's time. Like I'm very blessed that I don't have a major injury, you know. Of course, we'll always have injury here or this hurt here, the knee here, for a little bit but nothing crazy that I have a major injury. So, that's why I'm just having fun man. I joke yesterday [saying] I'm in my prime man because with older age I'm fighting better."
