Glover Teixeira's loss at UFC 283 could see Alex Pereira vacating middleweight title for Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker 3, suggests Chael Sonnen
UFC 283's main event between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill could have direct implications for the middleweight division and Israel Adesanya's title hopes, per Chael Sonnen.
On his YouTube channel, Sonnen discussed middleweight champion Alex Pereira's potential next fight and how it could be in either the middleweight or light heavyweight division. He also stated that Pereira's next weight class hinged on the result of Teixeira's fight against Hill:
"I don't think that you're gonna have Pereira at 185 pounds for much longer. I think Pereira's involvement in 185 pounds has a lot to do with Glover's outcome this Saturday. If Glover wins on Saturday, becomes the world champion, I think you're going to hear an announcement of an Alex Pereira fight within two weeks. And it will be at 185 pounds. But if Glover doesn't win, I think you're going to hear an announcement of an Alex Pereira fight somewhere soon within the next two weeks but it's going to be at 205 pounds [light heavyweight]."
Sonnen then weighed in on the future of the middleweight division if Pereira moved up to the light heavyweight division and speculated about a trilogy fight between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker:
"That division of 185 is going to be left wide open. And as far as who you're going to book against Adesanya, who you're going to book against Whittaker, it's likely going to be for a vacated championship. Now that's a hot take and not a lot of people share that opinion with me. Alex Pereira is not going to stay at 185 pounds any longer than he has to."
Sonnen explained that it was the mutual respect between the two Brazilians, Alex Pereira and Glover Teixeira, that prevented them from competing in the same division.

Glover Teixeira reveals the ingredients of his own 'secret juice'
Glover Teixeira's ripe age of 43 does not deter him from competing at the highest level. Apparently, the secret to his youthful physicality lies in a homemade concoction.
ESPN MMA panelists spoke about it during their broadcast preview of UFC 283. Brett Okamoto said:
"Alright, well before we go, our ESPN MMA crew recently hung out with Glover at his home here in Connecticut and we believe he shared with us his fountain of youth, he calls them dragon shots and he takes them every day. Turmeric, Himalayan salt, apple cider vinegar... Spirulina and cayenne pepper. It obviously works for him. This is Glover's secret juice."
The panelists then tried the 'secret juice' and gave mixed reactions to it, but Glover Teixeira would certainly attest to its effectiveness.
