Glover Teixeira talks about how long he would like to continue his career in MMA
Glover Teixeira recently revealed when he plans to pull off the curtains on his career in the sport of MMA.
Teixeira, aged 43, is all set to fight Jamahal Hill for the vacant light heavyweight championship belt. The matchup is set to be the main headliner event for the upcoming UFC 283 which is scheduled to take place on January 21, 2023, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Ahead of his upcoming fight, the No. 2-ranked light heavyweight did an interview with Michael Bisping, where they talked about Teixeira's title bout. During the conversation, Bisping brought up the possibility of the Brazilian retiring due to his age.
In response, the former division champion declared that he intends to remain in the competition and have "fun," asserting that he feels he is performing better as he gets older:
"I don't know man! I like to say ten more, but I donβt think so, man. You know, Bisping I leave it like uh, when it's time. Like I'm very blessed that I don't have a major injury, you know. Of course, we'll always have injury here or this hurt here, the knee here, for a little bit but nothing crazy that I have a major injury. So, that's why I'm just having fun man. I joke yesterday [saying] I'm in my prime man because with older age I'm fighting better."
