"Going to eliminate his strength" - Kiamran Nabati confident he'll be able to halt Nong-O's venomous kicking game
Kiamran Nabati believes his route to victory over Nong-O Hama will boil down to one thing — taking out the former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion's chopping kicking game.
The unbeaten Russian dynamo locks horns with the striking icon in a bantamweight Muay Thai duel when the promotion returns to the revered Lumpinee Stadium for ONE Friday Fights 81, which broadcasts live in Asia primetime on Friday, Sept. 27.
Though another tough battle will be in the offing for the Archangel Michel fighter, the 29-year-old is confident that he has just the right solution to ensure he gets his hand raised in Bangkok, Thailand.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Kiamran Nabati pointed out:
"It's no secret that his legs are his strength. And I'm going to eliminate his strengths. It is also no secret that my strength is my hands, but also my footwork."
Nabati's confidence isn't that surprising, after all. The Muay Thai specialist's ferocious displays on the global stage have shown that he can put his money where his mouth is.
The Russian has racked up a perfect 3-0 slate against Pongsiri PK Saenchai, Avatar PK Saenchai, and Suablack Tor Pran49 on his way to a life-changing US$100,000 contract.
Nong-O hyped to ace Kiamran Nabati test at ONE Friday Fights 81
Despite the long list of accolades he's achieved against some of the best in the business, No.3-ranked Nong-O Hama isn't taking anything for granted when he squares off against Kiamran Nabati.
The 37-year-old fighting out of Evolve MMA wants to regain the form that saw him capture a record-breaking number of world title defenses in the promotion. As such, his radar is locked on a win at all costs at the expense of the undefeated star.
He told the South China Morning Post recently:
"I think Kiamran is great. He's a great fighter, and also his winning streak is pretty good. I view him as a challenge for myself because I also want a great winning streak as well."
ONE Friday Fights 81 will be available via pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.
