"Going to get the rough, tough, rock-hard Jacob Smith" - Brit star to rely on trademark style to capture gold from Rodtang

Jacob Smith draws confidence ahead of his next fight in the evolution of his skills over the past two and a half years.

The British striker believes that he is a different fighter from the one who made his ONE Championship debut back in 2022.

Smith's introduction to the promotion may not have been his best performance but it did tell the fans a lot about him right off the bat.

In a tough fight with Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Smith's toughness and resilience were on display as the pair went the distance.

At ONE 169, they meet again at Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8 where Rodtang's ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship is on the line.

Despite the adjustments that he has made since that initial contest, Smith always knows that he can rely on his durability when the going gets tough.

In a recent interview with Violent Money TV, he said that fans can expect to see a new and improved but still just as tough version of himself in Bangkok, Thailand:

"You're always going to get the rough, tough, the rock-hard Jacob Smith in every single fight. And I always come to look for the finish as well."

Jacob Smith believes that he has Rodtang's respect

A massively important aspect of this rematch with Rodtang is Jacob Smith getting respect from the world champion. He can't allow 'The Iron Man' to continuously walk him down and bully him around the ring but the challenger already believes that this isn't the case.

Smith thinks that the champ fought him differently in their first clash than how he usually fights other opponents.

After seeing what the Brit is made of back in 2022, the challenger believes that his opponent is going to be smarter and fight him more conservatively in the rematch.
