Gordon Ryan hilariously speculates Dillon Danis' source of income amid inactivity

Gordon Ryan has taken yet another jibe at longtime rival and fellow Brazilian jui-jitsu (BJJ) savant Dillon Danis. 'King' alluded to the fact that Danis has been on a multi-year hiatus from submission grappling and MMA competition and suggested that Danis manages to get by only due to his family inheritance.

In the latest edition of The MMA Hour, host Ariel Helwani and guest Gordon Ryan discussed 29-year-old Danis' recent inactivity and career struggles. Helwani recalled that Ryan and Danis were rising up the ranks in their respective BJJ careers around the same time.

Ariel Helwani asked Gordon Ryan what comes to mind when he hears Dillon Danis' name, to which Ryan simply said, "clown." Meanwhile, Helwani noted that Danis used to be "somewhat well-respected."

He further insinuated that Dillon Danis has become a controversial personality and hasn't progressed in his BJJ or MMA careers over the past few years. Helwani then questioned how the BJJ community feels about Danis, to which Ryan said:

"Yeah, so the thing about Dillon is -- First of all, Dillon is a master. Dillon is an absolute master at managing to stay relevant without actually doing anything combat-related. I don't know how he does it, but he does it."

Ryan continued to express how he felt about Danis by saying:

"And props to him because he doesn't -- First of all, his family must have money because he doesn't do anything to actually generate revenue. He doesn't have sponsors, if you look at his Instagram. He doesn't teach. He doesn't compete. I don't know how he's not homeless, first of all. He must have like, an inheritance or something. But he manages to stay relevant."

Danis is scheduled to fight YouTube megastar/boxer KSI in a light heavyweight exhibition boxing bout on January 14, 2023.

Addressing the same, Gordon Ryan recently extended an interesting job offer to Dillon Danis. Widely regarded as one of the world's best submission grapplers, Ryan defeated Danis via referee decision in their submission grappling match in 2017. In an interview with MMA Junkie, Ryan jestingly offered to let his old rival clean his cars if he loses to KSI:

"If this doesn't work out [boxing KSI], I have tons of cars, you can clean those for me. I have like five cars, clean those and I'll give you $30 a week."
