"He can kill a buffalo with his punch" - Rodtang respects the destructive power of John Lineker's legendary 'Hands of Stone'
ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon took note of John Lineker's recent call-outs.
'The Iron Man' seem to be interested for a potential showdown against the Brazilian brawler, who's been quite vocal about his desire to test the Thai megastar's notoriously durable chin.
While Rodtang believes the former bantamweight MMA world champion is still quite green when it comes to Muay Thai, even he couldn't deny the destructive power that Lineker can generate.
In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, Rodtang admitted being in awe of the 34-year-old's weapons of mass destruction in his fists.
However, the Jitmuangnon Gym affiliate clarified that Lineker would have a hard time landing those bombs in a potential match against him:
"His punches are deadly. He can kill a buffalo with his punch. But if I use my footwork, he might not hit me at all.”
A Rodtang versus Lineker all-striking matchup is certainly as intriguing as it comes. However, for now, 'The Iron Man' is preoccupied with his upcoming title defense against Jacob Smith at ONE 169 this coming Nov. 8 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Plus, his long-awaited showdown with Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa also seems to be on the horizon.
John Lineker says even Rodtang will succumb to his 'Hands of Stone'
The flamboyant Rodtang has become a global superstar, thanks to his devil-may-care attitude when it comes to fighting.
'The Iron Man', after all, laughs in the face of danger and even purposely takes shots to the chin just to amuse his fans.
However, as far as John Lineker is concerned, the flyweight Muay Thai kingpin will be in for a world of hurt if he tries this tactic against him in a potential showdown.
'Hands of Stone' said in his ONE Fight Night 25 post-event interview:
"I always go up there for the knockout, to fight, to win, and with Rodtang it wouldn't be different. I would go there to fight for the win."
