“He didn’t have that adaptability” - Danial Williams says Thongpoon’s inability to adjust could cost him at ONE Fight Night 26
Australian-Thai fighter Danial Williams already has an idea on what upcoming opponent Thongpoon PK Saenchai will be coming up with in their scheduled match next week, and he is looking to capitalize on it.
The two are set for a strawweight Muay Thai match at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Both are out to get a much-needed victory after hitting a rough patch of late.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA in line with his return to action, Danial Williams shared his thoughts on his Thai opponent, including his inability to adjust his game as 'Mini T' observed from his previoius matches.
The Perth-based striker said:
"The fight style he was using just wasn't working. He didn't have that adaptability. I think that was [one of] his biggest flaws."
The match between Danial Williams and Thongpoon is part of the 12-match ONE Fight Night 26, which will be aired live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Danial Williams enters ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 on a high after chalking up a skid-busting victory in his previous fight. It is something he is looking to build on when he plunges back into action.
'Mini T' was a unanimous decision winner over Banma Duoji of China in their catchweight (136.25 pounds) MMA showdown last month in Thailand, effectively halting his four-match losing streak prior.
Against Banma, Williams had himself a battle against what he said was a stronger fighter. He turned to his vaunted striking in their three-rounder, pummeling 'The Prince' with telling strikes, including ripping hooks, which the Chinese fighter just could not match on his way to the convincing victory.
Prior to the win, Williams lost four straight, including two world title fights to Superlek Kiatmoo9 (flyweight kickboxing) and Jonathan Di Bella (strawweight kickboxing) last year.
Williams is among the few ONE Championship fighters concurrently competing in MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing.
