"He would just annihilate them" - Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone revisits Tim Kennedy demolishing Russian-Muslim fighters in the gym
Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone recently reflected on an event that involved Tim Kennedy. Cerrone claimed that Kennedy used to dominate Russian-Muslim fighters in the gym while sparring.
Kennedy is widely regarded as the fighter with the most distinguished military history. Although several MMA fighters have served in the armed forces in the past, Kennedy's career was the most successful.
Kennedy achieved success in two fields at the same time, rising to the level of Master Sergeant and being awarded the Bronze Star Medal by the US government. The 44-year-old, now retired from MMA, maintains his exceptional physical condition and continues to share videos of himself working out on social media.
Cerrone, who previously trained with Kennedy at JacksonWink MMA Academy, a mixed martial arts gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, recently posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he shared his opinions on several fighters.
'Cowboy' told an intriguing story about Kennedy, describing how the latter was vicious against Russian-Muslim fighters in the gym. He said:
''My favorite thing about Tim Kennedy is he's like as American as apple pie. so we're at Jackson's and any of the Russian Muslim fighters would come in, oh Timmy would take it upon himself to just take down smother and absolutely destroy these dudes.''
Cerrone added:
''He would just annihilate and I loved it.''

Kennedy competed in 24 MMA fights but never won a major title, losing the Strikeforce middleweight title fight against Luke Rockhold in 2012. Among his 18 professional victories were triumphs over Robbie Lawler, Jason Miller, Roger Gracie, Melvin Manhoef, and Michael Bisping.
After UFC acquired Strikeforce, he fought five times for the promotion, going 3-2 and losing by TKO to Yoel Romero and Kelvin Gastelum.
After his final fight of his career on Dec. 10, 2016, Kennedy rejoined the Army Special Forces in 2017.
What is Tim Kennedy up to now?
Tim Kennedy has continued to establish his legacy in the eight years since his last octagon bout in 2016. He has been active in the entertainment industry in addition to his military duties. The former UFC fighter hosts shows on the History Channel and Discovery Channel and is listed as an active stuntman.
Kennedy's social media accounts show he occasionally teaches MMA lessons and is a fitness enthusiast.
Only ten MMA fighters have ever been elected into the International Sports Hall of Fame, and Kennedy was one of them in 2019.
