"He just decided to be a p*ssy" - UFC Denver fighter blasts opponent over "robbed" no contest after alleged illegal blows lead to doctor's stoppage

A fighter recently took a dig at his opponent after his fight at UFC Denver ended controversially. The doctor's stoppage due to suspected illegal blows resulted in the match being deemed a no-contest.

The fighter mentioned above is Abdul Alhassan, who opened UFC Denver's main card with a middleweight bout against Cody Brundage. The event took place at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on July 13. This marked the promotion's return to Denver for the first time since 2018.

The unfortunate incident transpired when Brundage raced forward, aiming for an early takedown, prompting Alhassan to unleash elbows and hammer punches. Referee Dan Miragliotta immediately warned the Ghanaian fighter for landing punches to the back of the head.

Alhassan continued to land elbow strikes, at least a couple of which struck the back of Brundage's head until the latter repositioned and grabbed onto a leg. This prompted Miragliotta to halt the fight and issue another warning for the unlawful blows.

Unfortunately, the American was severely stunned by the blows, and even though he tried to regain consciousness for a few minutes, he was unable to continue, therefore, the fight was called off.

Miragliotta eventually declared the bout a no-contest owing to accidental hits to the back of the head, but Alhassan doesn't believe Brundage was seriously injured. The 38-year-old recently released a post-fight statement on his Instagram story, slamming his opponent.

''Sorry to all my fans, all my people. I wanted this bad. I wanted this win. I wanted this fight so bad. I have so much anger and so much energy in me right now that I wanted to use but I wasn’t able to use it. I guess today is a crazy day. [Donald] Trump got shot and I got robbed. I know definitely he could have continued. He just decided to be a pu**y and didn’t want to fight anymore. It is what it is. I hope him a speedy recovery.” [H/t: MMA Fighting]

Abdul Alhassan slammed Dricus du Plessis before UFC Denver

Abdul Alhassan recently criticized Dricus du Plessis for his true African champion comments last year.

Alhassan was questioned about the South African's remarks when he spoke to the media ahead of his UFC Denver showdown against Cody Brundage. The Ghanian fighter slammed du Plessis, citing that a "real African" would not have made such statements.

"He's a f*cking b*tch, he's a f*cking a**hole for that word he used. If he's a real f*cking african and lived in Africa, he would never have used that f*cking word."
