“He just knew he lost” - Jonathan Haggerty recalls ending Mongkolpetch’s unbeaten streak in ONE

Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom knew he had the win in the bag against Thai star Mongkolpetch in their Feb. 2022 encounter, just by reading his opponent's body language.

The 27-year-old Team Underground representative recently broke down the fights that led him to the greatest heights in his career, and he touched on the Mongkolpetch showdown at ONE: Bad Blood as a big turning point.

'The General' talked about the match in a special program on his official YouTube channel named 'Retrospect with Jonathan Haggerty'.

The Englishman said:

"It was in the second round, spinning elbows. Yeah, I cut him with a great elbow. Despite that, he was slowly creeping in with body shots. You can see me deteriorating because my energy levels were going down due to the weight cut. I think we have a minute and 30 seconds left for the last round. You could just see him like, he just knew he lost. You could see his whole demeanor here like he's lost."

Needless to say, when Haggerty smells blood, he goes for the finish. The 27-year-old ended up dominating Mongkolpetch across three rounds and the rest was history.
