"He was kicking the wall" - Paddy Pimblett shares 10-year-old Conor McGregor anecdote from the Irishman's earliest UFC days

Paddy Pimblett recently shared an interesting story about Conor McGregor during the latter's early UFC days. Pimblett revealed that McGregor was devastated after seeing one of his favorite fighters lose.

In a recent episode of Stillryan's podcast, StillTalkingShow, Pimblett revealed that after winning his first fight under Cage Warriors by unanimous decision against Florian Calin at CWFC 56, he and McGregor watched the middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman at UFC 162 on July 6, 2013.

'The Baddy' said that McGregor, a fan of the Brazilian, was acting like a child and kicking a wall after witnessing Silva lose via second-round knockout:

''When I had my first Cage Warriors fight, he’d just been signed by the UFC. I was 19, and he was there. We were watching Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman that night...there only a few of us left and he was there with John Kavanagh. When Anderson lost, he was gutted, as he's an Anderson fan. He was kicking the wall in the hotel reception. It was fu**ing hilarious.''

Pimblett is currently on a six-fight win streak in the promotion after making a successful octagon debut at UFC Vegas 36. The 29-year-old has prevailed over the likes of Jordan Leavitt, Jared Gordon, and former Interim UFC Lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.

In his most recent octagon appearance at UFC 304, Pimblett submitted King Green via a triangle choke.

Meanwhile, McGregor's last octagon outing was at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, where he broke his leg in the opening round. 'The Notorious' was then scheduled to make his highly anticipated return in a welterweight clash against Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

However, a toe injury sustained while training forced him to withdraw from the bout. The Irishman is expected to return next year.

Conor McGregor faces legal trouble over his whiskey business

Conor McGregor has been sued by his former friend and training partner Artem Lobov over his Proper No. 12 whiskey business. Lobov accused McGregor of cutting him out of the whiskey sales deals in 2022, and the two have been in a legal dispute ever since.

Irish outlet Dublin Live reported that the former two-division UFC champion will return to court in January.

''Conor needs this case like a hole in the head after losing the sexual assault case. The Nikita Hand court hearing cost him his reputation and a quarter of a million quid. This case is not before a jury but could cost him around eight million if he loses. As far as Artem is concerned, he shook hands on a deal with Conor McGregor and gave up a couple of years of his life to help make his whiskey a success." [H/t: Dublin Live]''
