"He would be next" - Christian Lee braces for inevitable showdown with former welterweight MMA kingpin Zebaztian Kadestam
Two-weight world champion Christian Lee is preparing to make his long-awaited return to action in the coming months.
It has been nearly two years since 'The Warrior' last competed and his presence has been missed.
The last time that ONE Championship fans saw Lee compete was when he won the welterweight title at ONE on Prime Video 4.
Though his return will see him defend his lightweight MMA belt against Alibeg Rasulov at ONE 169, he plans on returning to welterweight in the near future also.
In an interview with Nick Atkin for Sportskeeda on ONE 168 fight week, Lee spoke about the likely top contender at this weight, Zebaztian Kadestam.
The champion agrees that a huge clash with 'The Bandit' is probably on the horizon for him in the near future:
"I think in the welterweight division, definitely, the clear contender would be Kadestam. He's a former champion. He's also coming off of a great knockout over Roberto Soldic, it's hard to pass him up. In the welterweight division, I think he would be next."

Christian Lee has business to attend to
Being a two-weight champion means that there are going to be a lot of contenders targeting the titleholder and Christian Lee knows that.
After returning at the State Farm Arena on Nov. 8, he isn't going to be short on options for who he can fight following his two-year break that comes to an end in Atlanta.
Whether or not he is able to keep hold of the lightweight MMA belt against the undefeated Rasulov, contenders like Kadestam in the welterweight division will be eagerly anticipating his first title defense in this weight class.
As the start of a new chapter begins for Lee, he's got several big challenges waiting for him inside the Circle.
