"He really has to improve his kicking game" - Stephen Loman gives John Lineker advice ahead of Muay Thai transition at ONE 168
In the eyes of current number two-ranked bantamweight MMA contender Stephen Loman, former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker should focus on honing a particular facet of his game to assure himself of a successful Muay Thai debut.
Lineker is slated to face Asa Ten Pow at ONE 168: Denver in a bantamweight Muay Thai match inside the Ball Arena in Colorado, and Loman shared some advice to him in his most recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA.
Loman said:
"He didn't kick that much in our fight, so he really has to improve his kicking game in his upcoming Muay Thai match. He should utilize his kicks more so he could score better against Asa."
According to 'The Sniper,' Lineker should not rely heavily on the power he packs in his punches but instead mix things up to give Ten Pow different looks during their match.
Loman lost a unanimous decision to 'The Hands of Stone' during their fight in September 2023 at ONE Fight Night 14, which took place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Before he makes his Muay Thai debut on American soil, the 34-year-old Brazilian striking sensation has blurted out his plan for his future and timetable for his professional fighting career.
Lineker disclosed this in an interview with the world's largest martial arts organization, where he said:
"I'm getting into this business world because I plan to retire soon. If everything goes well with the company, I plan to retire even earlier than I had planned. If the company takes off, I'll stop even sooner!"
On being asked about his exact projection of seeing action inside the ring, Lineker added:
"I plan to fight for another five or six years."
