“He's a force to be reckoned with” - Jonathan Haggerty says six-foot tall Nabil Anane is a problem
Former two-sport king and current ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom may have lost his Muay Thai gold at ONE 168: Denver, but the 27-year-old Englishman appears to be in good spirits.
Haggerty remains a major player in the bantamweight division, despite surrendering the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title to Thai megaster 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at Ball Arena last Sept. 6.
'The General' is over that defeat, and now looks forward to the movers and shakers in the division, especially a certain up-and-coming six-foot phenom on the rise.
Haggerty has nothing but high praise for the 20-year-old Algerian-Thai fighter. He told the South China Morning Post in a recent interview:
"He's a force to be reckoned with. He's six foot. I don't know how big, how tall he is, but he's a big guy. He's doing great in the division. And I'm sure one day I'll pass across and I'm looking forward to it."
Haggerty is looking to take a short break from fighting. Retreat to headquarters, recover, regroup, and then come back with a vengeance.
