"He's gassed already" - MMA Twitter reacts to Khamzat Chimaev fulfilling fan's request with a body shot to the gut
Khamzat Chimaev recently landed a punch, which garnered a lot of attention on social media even if it was not in the octagon. With Chimaev booked to return at UFC 308, fans have turned their attention back to the Russian who has not fought in nearly one full year.
Ahead of his middleweight clash with Robert Whittaker on Oct. 26, Chimaev attended fan meet-and-greet events. One such event caught the attention of Belgian social media star and regional MMA fighter Idriss Altidor who asked 'Borz' to give him a body shot for an Instagram video.
Chimaev granted the fan's wish and gave him a singular body shot, which Altidor ate cleanly.

Altidor has posted previous videos with a similar stunt, including one in which he took a body shot from former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane.
As the clip circulated social media and made its way to X, fans took the opportunity to poke fun at Chimaev, who has been the subject of criticism since he withdrew from the original matchup with Whittaker in June.
Regarding Chimaev, one fan commented:
"He's gassed already and won't recover 'till 2026"
Others commented:
"That had to be 6/10 power! Chim barely tried"
"He's gonna feel that s*** tomorrow"
"Surprised he didn't pull out of the meet and greet"

Khamzat Chimaev's clash with Robert Whittaker
Nine months into the year, Khamzat Chimaev still has not competed in 2024 but is scheduled to do so on the main card of UFC 308 against former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.
The fighters were previously booked to headline UFC Saudi Arabia in June before Chimaev withdrew from the matchup and was replaced by Ikram Aliskerov. Whittaker won the fight by knockout in round one and claimed he asked the UFC to re-book him with 'Borz' to set up a potential middleweight title eliminator.
Chimaev returned to the middleweight division at UFC 294 with a majority decision win over Kamaru Usman. Dana White previously deemed that fight as a title eliminator but later backtracked when Dricus du Plessis earned the next shot at then-champion Sean Strickland.
