“He’s going to be okay” - Kill Cliff FC wrestling coach confident Aung La N Sang will bag a win over Shamil Erdogan at ONE 168

Greg Jones, the wrestling coach at Kill Cliff FC, is confident that Aung La N Sang will bag a fourth-straight win inside the Circle on Friday night.

After earning a trio of highlight-reel finishes against Yushin Okami, Gilberto Galvao, and Fan Rong, 'The Burmese Python' returns to The Mile High City for a high-stakes middleweight scrap with undefeated division standout Shamil Erdogan at ONE 168: Denver.

On the cusp of a potential ONE world title opportunity, Aung La faces another tough test against an opponent who has never known defeat in his mixed martial arts career.

Still, Jones believes that the Myanmar superstar will be on his A-game and turn all of his hard work in the gym into a hard-fought victory on martial arts' biggest global stage.

"Aung La has performed good consistently over a long period of time. And that's what I'm looking for him to continue. Just a well-rounded, hard, tough, physical. And I think if he can execute things at that level, he's going to be okay. He’s gonna get the win."

Shamil Erdogan plans to stand and trade with Aung La N Sang at ONE 168: Denver

Making his sophomore appearance for the promotion at ONE 168: Denver is Shamil Erdogan, a 9-0 fighter with a well-rounded skill set that has earned him four wins by way of KO and a single submission over the aforementioned Fan Rong in his ONE Championship debut last year.

While Erdogan is best known for his work on the mat, the Dagestani-born grappler—who now fights out of Turkey—is eager to show off his striking skills against one of ONE's most prolific finishers.

"I will fight him both in stand-up and in wrestling," Erdogan told ONE. "There will be no ‘just wrestling.’ I’ve been spending a lot of time on my striking technique lately, and I want to show what I’ve learned."

ONE 168: Denver will air live on Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime in both the United States and Canada on Friday, September 6. Follow this link for tickets to attend the event live at Ball Arena.
