"He's gonna fight granddads now?" - Oscar De La Hoya, Tommy Fury, and other boxing pros weigh in on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson
A few noted faces from the world of boxing recently gave out their thoughts about the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, which will commence in about twenty-four hours from now. The list included a few famous boxers including Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, and others. However, it was Jake Paul's former rival, Tommy Fury, who had the most scathing take on the fight.
A large chunk of the combat sports community criticized Paul's decision to lock horns with the 58-year-old retired Mike Tyson who had his last professional bout in 2006. However, the hype around the fight indicates that it is going to garner a massive number of eyeballs.
The Golden Boy Promotions head honcho, De La Hoya, appeared on iFL TV's YouTube video in the first place to give out his take on the Paul vs. Tyson encounter. He said:
"I hear Mike Tyson is in tremendous shape. I hear Jake Paul is looking, yolked and big and strong. We will see. I give Mike Tyson the first two to three rounds. If he can take out Jake Paul, it’s sayonara for Paul. But if it goes past four, I think Jake Paul’s youth, the speed [and] the intelligence might take over."
After a few others, Tyson's former rival, Lennox Lewis, appeared in the video. He described:
"Well, I don't think Jake Paul can hurt Mike Tyson. I think Mike Tyson's gonna go in there and he has to catch up to Jake Paul. Paul's not gonna be there and try to get hit by Tyson. Mike Tyson really knows how to break down opponents and in the fight with Jake Paul, he's gonna try to break him down and take him out."
Paul's only unconquered rival, Tommy Fury, appeared in the video after a few moments and took a jibe at 'The Problem Child'. Fury said:
"He [Paul] couldn't beat me. So, he's gonna fight grand dads now, which is terrible. What he [Tyson] was, isn't what you [Paul] are now."

A former UFC champion recently dissed Netflix for broadcasting the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event
Like Tommy Fury, several UFC athletes also dissed Jake Paul for selecting a rival with a 30-year age gap. However, none of them went at him harder than the former UFC middleweight champ, Sean Strickland.
In an older interview with The Schmo, Strickland derided Paul for his decision to fight Tyson, calling him a disgrace. However, Strickland also didn't spare Netflix, the official broadcaster of this fight. In a recent post on X, Strickland labeled them a "cesspool":
"It's odd to me that this woke cesspool would peddle a 60 year old getting abused.... But again Netflix does love when kids mutilate themselves for the trans cause so I'm not that surprised that you have no dignity."
