"He's gonna throw the kitchen sink" - Jonathan Haggerty game to counter Superlek's aggression at ONE 168

Jonathan Haggerty expects to be put through the wringer when he runs it back with Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the headline attraction of ONE 168: Denver. But that is a scenario he's more than ready to meet head-on.

The Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground superstar defends his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai gold against his old rival in what should go down as an instant classic inside Ball Arena this Friday, September 6.

Superlek is on a 10-match winning streak heading into this showdown with victories over Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Takeru Segawa, and Nabil Anane, to name a few.

As impressive as that run has been, 'The General' believes he has everything in place to stop the Thai's winning ways in the 'Mile High City'.

"We know he's gonna throw the kitchen sink at us. But we're prepared for the fight, for sure. Always ready for this fight at this point."

At the same time, the kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion touched on his crushing knockout power at bantamweight – an advantage that could be instrumental in his bid to claim the biggest victory on his resume at ONE 168.

The 27-year-old added:

"Besides being ready, yeah, the power at bantamweight has just given me the confidence really to be able to beat anyone. So it's gonna be the same mindset for this one."

Meanwhile, ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon believes a knockout will ensue when Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek start trading leather on September 6.

However, he predicts that both striking titans will deploy a more cautious approach with the stakes at an all-time high.

Speaking to ONE Championship, 'The Iron Man' shared:

"It has a high chance to end with a KO. It's hard for me to predict, but in the first round, the two will get to know each other. In the second round, they will start trading weapons."
